One of the best ways to help halt this injustice is to visit website advocating for change, educating yourself, and supporting these organizations through donations or sharing them with others. An amazing wesbite for this is The Arc, who has multiple local chapters in Massachussetts and across the United States.
What Have I Done
For my social justice action plan, I wanted to educate others by interviewing and recording teachers on their experiences teaching students with intellectual disabilities and create a video on my topic. I chose this approach because, through researching and talking to others, I found that my injustice is one that is rarely ever talked about. I believe the first step toward taking action against this injustice is to make others aware of the issue.
