The Dangers of Talc in Health & Beauty Products

Sidney Leveille

Imagine this...

You are at a gynecological surgeon’s office, had both ovaries removed the day before Christmas, and on your pathology report you read serous carcinoma. However, no one in your family has had ovarian cancer, you did not struggle with infertility, you never consumed fertility drugs, you’ve never had any cancers, nor have you had diet or weight issues. Then you return home, and on the bathroom counter you see a huge bottle of Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder. You remember on a pamphlet you received earlier that day with the risk factors, and talcum powder being listed on there. This is the case for thousands of Americans who received the diagnosis of ovarian cancer or mesothelioma from Health and Beauty products containing talc, sometimes contaminated with the carcinogen asbestos.

This image explains how ovarian cancer is developed among women who uses talculm powder.

"Let's put an end to the toxicity, and promote the use of clean ingredients in our personal products."
