Your volunteer efforts allow us to donate to local and national nonprofit organizations. When you sign up for a shift, you will be asked to select a beneficiary who will receive credit for your hours.
Our events are largely volunteer-run. There are very few paid staff. By running our events through volunteer opportunities, we ensure that we keep overhead costs as low as possible. This way, we can donate the majority of the money raised to supporting the vital projects of our beneficiaries.
We rely on our volunteers to help run the show from sun up to sun down. Each volunteer shift is incredibly important in making our events run smoothly and safely. We depend on and value each one of our volunteers.
Also, each volunteer receives multiple perks in Volunteer HQ for donating their time and effort!
Once you've registered for a shift, two groups will be notified: the Volunteers Team at Folsom Street Events, and the Volunteer Coordinator for your Beneficiary of choice.
Periodically between the time you register and the day of the event, you may receive emails from both groups regarding your volunteer shift. Please read these messages carefully, and be sure that you've freed us from your SPAM filters!
If you have any questions after registering, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for the organization with which you're volunteering.
Volunteers are more than welcome to fulfill more than one shift at our events, we just ask that they not be overlapping.
If volunteers fill back-to-back shifts, they are welcome to take a short break to enjoy the Hospitality Area between their shifts.
Please register for only one shift per Eventbrite order. Place an additional order for each additional shift you would like to register for.
Each shift can only be attributed to a single Beneficiary.
While we hope that you'll do everything you can to fulfill your volunteer shift as promised, we do understand that sometimes things come up. If you realize that you will not be able to volunteer, please cancel your shift in Eventbrite. This frees up your shift so that someone else may sign up to fill it.
You can cancel your shift by completing the "Cancel Order" process through Eventbrite. Click here for Eventbrite's easy directions on cancelling orders.
To switch your current shift to a new one, please cancel the original order first and then return to Eventbrite and sign up for the new shift.
To prevent confusion, please register for only one shift per order. If you register for multiple shifts in one order, cancelling your order will cancel all of your shifts. To prevent that from happening, please register for only one shift in one order. Then, place a second order if you wish to register for another shift.
If you do not have access to Eventbrite, please email the Volunteer Coordinator of your beneficiary organization. They can cancel your shift manually.
