Each student is allowed to take out 1 (or more) book(s) per week, which must be either renewed or returned before additional books are loaned so others can enjoy them. If a student finishes the book before the next library class, they may come to the library to find another.
Additional books may be borrowed for a class project and kept in the classroom.
Please ask your child if you notice they are not bringing home any new books; a book may be misplaced, or in their cubby or backpack.
If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, a replacement fee may be charged to help replace the book.
Students with damaged/lost books may not take books home until the fees are paid, or other arrangements are made (help out in library to cover costs).
Each student is responsible for treating every book with respect; please remind your child to handle the books safely and responsibly by:
keeping books away from food and drinks
not folding the book backwards
using a bookmark instead of folding pages
keeping the book in a safe and dry place [away from small children and pets] when not in use
handling the book carefully so that it is not dropped (by holding or in the backpack)
If a page accidentally tears, please do not repair it at home. Write a note to Ms. Strum, who will repair the book. If damaged beyond repair, a replacement fee may be charged.
