Our RES Vacation Paassport Challenge was a huge success!

It was awesome seeing so many famlies out in the community and doing things at home also!

Thank you to our community partners for their participation:  Greenwood's Bakery & Deli, Richford Town Hall, Arvin A Brown Public Library, Richford Post Office, North Country Credit Union, Richford Food Shelf, Nifty Thrifty, & Main Street Market!  Great Job RES families

9/22/23

Another amazing RES week comes to a close so much a few of the highlights this week:  Kindergarteners collaborate and work hard during independent reading and letter work, a very special visitor in 1st grade (Ms. Holt), 4th grade mathematicians, and learning how to fish in PE.  We ended the week celebrating one of our own Mrs. Kelli Dean -FNESU Administrator of the Year with a celebratory block walk.

Another amazing week at RES...so many hands on learning opportunities!  Our week began with an ECHO STEM festival in our gym, we had visits from Mr. K exploring nature with our youngest students.  A vist to Beaver Meadow Greenhouse, a fabulous ART NIGHT where families created art and views student works created this year.  The week ended with the Conservation Commission BioBlitz and more nature exploration and learning about pollinators, mammal tracks and signs, & stream life!!  We are so lucky to be a part of this amazing learning community1

Another amazing & busy week comes to a close at RES!  Here a few photos of the highlights:  BikeSmart trailer, K/1 ECHO field trip, Mr. K visits preschool, Ivy the service dog reads with our 1st &  2nd graders and 1st graders help plant blueberry bushes!  Such a great week, great students, great staff, & great weather!

Another great week at RES comes to a close.  A few of the hightlights:  RES students GREEN UP!  A third grade walking field trip to NOTCH for a cooking/nutrition activity & a grocery store scavenger hunt.  

So many fun UNEXPECTED things happened at RES on the day before our spring break!  SO FUN!  We hope you all enjoy the break we will see you on Monday, May 1st!

What a great hands on week of science!!!  School wide VINS "Birds of Prey" assemblies & a field trip to ECHO for our 2nd & 3rd graders!  Perfect end to another fantastic week at RES!

87 Students participated in our Winter Break Passport Challenge

From skating, board games, baking, to sledding, from visiting Richford locations for cooking classes, story walks, donating food at he food shelf, to visiting the bakery, the library, and Town Hall you all did a great job staying active and engaged over the break!  Thank you to our community partners at NOTCH, Greenwoods Bakery, Arvin A. Brown Library, Richford Town Hall and to all who helped support this!  A huge shout out to families and students for joining in the fun and sharing your break with us all!

RES 4/5 graders enjoyed a beautiful day at the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge.  Huge shout out to Mr. K, refuge staff, & our parent chaperones for making this possible!

Great end to another fabulous RES week!  2nd graders walked to NOTCH/Main St. Market & participated in a grocery store scavenger hunt and cooking/nutrition activity, and were also able to tour the medical, dental, and pharmacy to meet some of the amazing NOTCH staff.  All students took home a NOTCH Swag bag and ingredients to make polka dot rice at home Thank you Miranda Henry (NOTCH Healthy Food Coordinator & all of NOTCH for the visit!  It was awesome!

What a wonderful way to end our year!

Ms. Dumas' first graders did an amazing job with their readers theater performance of "Tacky the Penguin", RAK  (Random Acts of Kindness) muggings continue at RES  & Mrs. Burke's third grade class continued with their kindness challenge making cards to share with Our Lady of the Meadows residents.  Our 4/5 grade students spent their first Friday at Jay Peak skiing & snowboarding.   Another amazing week at RES!

A Few Highlights from this week

PreK classes visited the Arvin A Brown public library, first time on a school bus for most, our amazing CHCC Education & Human Service students facilitated a story hour there and PreK art is now on display there as well at the Notch Partner Project building at 53 Main st.  Kindness abounds at RES-Mrs. Burke's third grader began a daily kindness challenge until the Winter break, and RAK (Random Acts of Kindness a mysterious group is "mugging" our awesome staff.  So many wonderful things happening these are but a few!

Just a few highlights of another amazing week at RES:  Mrs. Marlow's 4/5 class visited Our Lady of the Meadows for painting and crafting with the residents, we earned another school wide celebration  "limbo around the block" for being Safe, Responsible, & Respectful, Mr. K visited 4/5 classrooms for science inquiry & exploration, & we closed out the week with a Family Turkey Luncheon thanks to our awesome kitchen staff!  What a wonderful community we have.

Another amazing week at RES comes to a close, a week of fun filled learning.  Student Led Conferences were incredible, we celebrated our very own Teacher of the Year Ms. Leslie Dumas, a visit from Liz from ECHO in 2nd & 3rd grade, a school wide morning meeting & Mrs. Marlow's 4/5 class honoring our veterans rounded out the week.  We are enjoying our partnership with CHCC students who are interning in our building on Fridays.  So many wonderful things happening at RES!

Another awesome week at RES!  Wonderful family visitors, Echo preschool visit learning about animals that make Lake Champlain their home and how we can protect our waterways,  wrapping up our week with Favorite Book Character Day & a community wide Trunk or Treat!

Mrs Marlow’s 4/5 class visited Our Lady of the Meadows this morning. We played Yahtzee with some of the residents and hung up a display of students work 

We can't wait to visit again!

a meteorologist visit, anything but a backpack, family members visiting morning meeting, CHCC Human Services & Education students beginning their partnership with RES staff & pumpkin painting.

10/20 - OCTOBER IS FIRE PREVENTION MONTH

HUGE shout out to the Richford Fire and Ambulance crew who came out to RES today!  Students learned about their important job, equipment, and how to be fire safe!  Thank you for taking time out of your busy day!  I know you’ve inspired many future firefighters!

Great visit to the Richford Town Hall & Arvin A Brown Library with our kindergarten classes today!  Thank you for showing us around and allowing us to display our work. Be sure to visit and see the beautiful artwork these students created 

Fabulous Friday @ RES 10/14

Fabulous FULL Friday at RES with more family visiting classrooms for morning meetings, RJSHS students from Ms. Erikson's Effective Speaking reading to our students and joining morning meetings, a visit to Seven Saplings Farm to pick apples, & a engaging interactive visit from Elisabeth from ECHO where students learned about monarch butterflies and their long journey to Mexico and then they became engineers designing machines to help the butterflies "travel"   Such an amazing FULL, FUN Day of learning at RES!

Harvest Community Dinner 10/6/22

Our First Harvest/Community Dinner was a huge success!  It was so wonderful gathering for a meal of pasta with homemade sauce, roasted harvest veggies, toasted salad, & cookies. Our amazing RES students and staff worked hard preparing the food, setting up, serving, & cleaning up.  We are excited to be welcoming the community back into RES!

October 1, 2022

Our First Soccer Jamboree was a huge success! Teams from Berkshire, Montgomery, Sheldon, & Swanton joined Richford for a morning full of sunshine & soccer! 

Sept. 28  Harvest of the Month-Bell peppers . Yum! 

RES earned our 2nd school wide celebration on Monday, September 26th.  A Mini Field Day celebration!  Fun games:  Cookie Face, Card Toss, & Caught Red Handed!  Great Job RES keep up the work being Responsible, Respectful, & Safe!
