Teaching and fostering a love of music, while also growing young minds into well-rounded members of society is a true passion of mine and I am excited to continue this passion with the Frankenmuth Bands each and every day!
My primary instrument is the tuba, which I have played since starting band in sixth grade... something a lot of people can't say they have done! My tuba allowed me many opportunities throughout my school years starting with introducing me to Herter Band Camp at YMCA Camp Timbers; to traveling with the Lions of Michigan All State Band to Hong Kong, Hawaii, Chicago, and the East Coast; introducing me to some of my lifelong best friends; and maybe one of the most important, introducing me to my wonderful husband, fellow tuba player and educator, Zach.
I attended Central Michigan University... Fire Up, Chips! There I earned my Bachelors of Music Education, with a minor in instrumental music. I also met Mr. VanderGraaff, who was a fellow tuba player and was also studying Music Education, while at CMU.
I am currently working on my Master's in Music Education in Teaching Artistry through Bowling Green State University.
Zach and I have been married since 2011 and have three awesome sons, Ben, Levi, and Jake. As a family we love camping, traveling, and playing both card and board games. We also have two rescue dogs, Remy and Zeke.
In my fleeting spare time I like to spend time outdoors, especially by the water. I also like to go on adventures with my family, tend to my flower garden, bake goodies, and be creative whether it be with crocheting, dabbling in photography, or taking a new class with a friend.
