Reading, Writing
Entering (1) through Developing (3)
A word bank provides core vocabulary to support writing and speaking.
"Use a word from the box to name each part of the computer on your activity sheet."
"Which word goes first?"
Teacher models that students can start with the first word in the box and cross it out once they use it once.
Students follow the teacher by filling in the blank with the first word in the box and crossing it out.
The Provide Word Bank accommodation may be removed when the student demonstrated increased content vocabulary and can generate this vocabulary with ease during assessments. Most MLs do not require the word bank accommodation beyond the Developing level (3), but some students above Developing occasionally require this accommodation when new material is being introduced. If you have questions, or feel your ML requires a change in their ILAP regarding this accommodation, please reach out to the ESOL teacher in your building to discuss the student's needs.
