What you need:
Scissors
Push Pin or straight pin
Pencil with eraser
Colored pencils or markers to decorate
STEPS:
Use scissors to cut out the square
Think of symbols, images or words that represent what peace means to you.
On one side of the paper, write down your feelings about peace. (this can be just words, a poem, or sentences.)
On the other side, use markers or colored pencils to visually represent your feelings using picture or symbols.
Use colors that represent peace.
Following the diagonal lines on the template, cute in from each corner leaving about 2 inches of the center un cut.
TO CREATE THE PINWHEEL:
Gently bend (don't fold) one the cut corners to the center.
Skip the next corner.
Bend the next corner in to the center with the 1st.
Continue to skip/ bend until you have every other corner bent in to the center.
Carefully stick the push pin into the center of the paper (through the four corner points)
Take the eraser of the pencil and stick the pointed end of the pin into the eraser.
You can test your pinwheel to see if it spins by blowing on it or taking it outside.
Save your Pinwheel in a safe place until September 21st then take it to a public place and "plant" it into the ground to send a message of world peace!
