For our last meeting of 2022 we got to have our own little PAINT PARTY!  Mrs. Seltzer led us in an awesome acrylic painting tutorial of how to create a forest landscape using value and space.  Here is our meeting recording!  I still haven't finished mine but I am so excited to see everyone's masterpieces! 

We had a blast at our GNOME festival meeting!  Students did such a great job creating or drawing their own gnome characters.  We are excited to see our gnome families on the art club padlet! 

During this meeting we will be learning about the artist of the Month, Pablo Picasso, and CUBISM.  Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and theatre designer who spent most of his adult life in France. His birthday is on OCTOBER 25th, and he is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.  He is known for co-founding the Cubist movement.  We will also learn how to draw our OWN SELF portrait in his ‘PICASSO’ style!

All you need for this project is :

1. White drawing paper (or you can use a digital drawing app/ program)

2. Pencil & eraser

3. Something to add color- oil pastels, colored pencil, or paint.  This project would be cool to use NEON colors too, so they glow in the dark!

4. Optional- black paper for a background frame.
