The Collaboration assignment can be completed at any time prior to completing the Segment. Although it is listed first in your assessments list, it is NOT your first assignment. We would prefer for you to complete the Collab after your first or second module, that way you are familiar with the course, and everything goes smoothly while working with your partner.
Remember to plan accordingly to make sure you find a partner and complete the Collaboration in a timely manner.
How do you find a partner? Collaborations can be completed synchronously or asynchronously.
It is live—all participants are working on the project at the same time. This is accomplished in a live session with a teacher there to help, or you and your partner can complete it face to face. You may join the Collaboration Sessions offered on our Live Lesson Calendar.
You can find the Live Lesson calendar on the course announcement page (or click the link below) and simply click on the lesson to enter.
Please have PART 1 of the collaboration assignment completed before attending the live session.
This will ensure that you and your partner can make the most of your time together in the session.
Each participant completes a part of the project independently and then their work is exchanged with their partner (for example, via phone, text or email). All participants do not necessarily have to be available at the same time.
To find a class partner you need to go to: Main menu – click on Discussion Groups- Find the Thread for the Seg 1 or Seg 2 (This Activity Section is open to the entire class) click on new message and place your request (Ex: “Looking for a partner”) – click submit.
Note: The Collaboration discussion board thread is designed to find a partner, NOT to complete the Collab. Once you have a partner and you have their email address, please communicate directly with your partner to coordinate the project and exchange your work.
