MODULE 1 GUIDED NOTES

You may use these on quizzes, exams, and DBAs....so they are VERY important!! 

What to do? 

• 1. Read through lesson 1.01 in your virtual textbook and complete section 1.01 of your Biology Notebook as you go.

  2. Complete the 1.01 assignment using the template found on the last page of the lesson or use this alternative lab report .

  3. Submit the completed lab report in your grade book.

  2. Take the 1.02 quiz found in your gradebook; remember, you get 3 attempts!

1. Read through lesson 1.03 in your virtual textbook and complete section 1.03 of your Biology Notebook as you go.

2. Complete the 1.03 quiz in your gradebook. Remember, you get 3 attempts!

What to do?

• 1. Get excited! DBAs are a great opportunity for you to share all you have learned in the module during a one-on-one, voice-to-voice conversation with your teacher (either in a live lesson room OR over the phone). They are not something for you to stress over... I promise! 

     1. • Helpful Tip! Prepare/study for the DBA exactly as you would for the module exam. Not only does this ensure you are well-prepared for the DBA, but it also cuts down on your prep time before you take your module exam.

  2. Ensure ALL sections of your Biology Notebook for Module 1 are completed and bring it to your DBA.

  3. Complete the "Refresh and Review" activity on page 1 of lesson 1.04 to prepare.

  4.  Schedule a call or zoom time with your teacher.

  5. Complete (and pass!) your Module 1 DBA and earn the password to the Module 1 Exam. The password will be in your DBA feedback.

  6. Don't forget to submit the DBA assignment in your gradebook after you complete it.

What to do?

• 1. Review any concepts/material you struggled with one last time and give your Biology Notebook a solid final check.

  2. Check your 1.04 DBA feedback (in your gradebook) for the password to the module exam (remember, passwords are case-sensitive).

  3. Gather your notes and take the Module 1 Exam (you are allowed to use your notes on the exam)! BEFORE beginning the exam, please ensure the following:

     1. 1. 1. you are well-prepared and well-rested (having a snack beforehand never hurts!)

           2. your computer is plugged in

           3. you do not have any other tabs open

           4. you have enough time to complete the entire exam in one sitting

           5. you are in a quiet, distraction-free zone

Taken the exam and not happy with your grade?  

Mistakes happen and they are part of learning.  I will give you the opportunity to earn partial credit back for your missed questions, here's what you need to do.....

1. Email or take pictures of your Biology notes and send them to Mrs. Duchien (taking notes are required in this class).

2.  Once I have verified your notes, you can complete this exam remediation file.  Email the completed file to Mrs. Duchien from within the course. Please save it as NameExam1.  For example: AEinsteinExam1.  By completing the exam remediation file above, students will be eligible to earn back partial credit on the questions they missed (and answer correctly on the remediation file). 

3. Students can NOT retake the exam, this is the only option to increase your score once the exam is complete.
