My name is Roberto Rios, I was born in the state of Puebla, Mexico. At the age of eighteen year old, I came to the United States to pursue my biggest dream, to become a Spanish teacher. I went to Hunter for my BA on Adolescent Education with a minor in Spanish. During my first years of teaching, I noticed the need of social/emotional support of new arrival immigrants, reason for which I decided to pursued my Master’s degree in Social Work.
In the last four years as a Social Worker, I have been working with the International Network of High Schools. Currently, I am supporting our community of recently arrived young people and their families with their immigration and their many other socio/economic needs. Finally, in a more personal note, I would like to share that I am passionate about traveling and seeing the world.
我的名字是Roberto Rios，我出生在墨西哥的普埃布拉州。十八岁那年，我来到美国追求我最大的梦想，成为一名西班牙语老师。我去 Hunter College攻读青少年教育学士学位，辅修西班牙语。在我教学的第一年，我注意到新移民需要社会/情感支持，因此我决定攻读社会工作硕士学位。
在过去的四年里，作为一名社会工作者，我一直在与国际高中合作。目前，我正在通过移民和许多其他社会/经济需求来支持我们社区的新移民来的年轻人及他们的其家人。最后，我也想分享一下我对旅行和环游世界充满热情。
