Welcome to 8th Grade Georgia History!

ALL ABOUT ME:

I was born in Southeast Georgia, but being military I had the awesome experience of moving to many states and overseas, so I have been influenced by many areas and cultures.  I graduated from Youth Challenge Military Academy for high school, then joined the Navy shortly afterwards.  I have four amazing sons and two beautiful daughters.  I obtained my Bachelor's degrees from Ashford University double majoring in Psychology and Social Science with Education Concentration. I am currently finishing up my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Arizona.   I joined the Rome community in the Summer of 2012 and have had the pleasure of working in the Floyd County district for the last nine years with this being my 7th official year in the Coosa district.

Get ready 8th grade, we are learning all things GEORGIA!  Starting from the beginning developmental stages to today's current events.  I can't wait to learn with you on how Georgia was created and the steps our founding fathers took to develop the great State of Georgia into a thriving, economically balanced, and overall wonderful place to live today.

I am a Facilitator of  Information and a wonderful source for you to utilize as you take the reigns of your academic learning.  You will find that we learn best when we put in the action for ourselves through our own discovery and self-teaching of topics.  Remember that learning is an ongoing process and WE are in this together.  I look forward to learning more with you this year!
