My name is Melissa Shell. I am the counselor at Garden Lakes Elementary School. This is my 25th  year working in Floyd County Schools. I taught 1st grade and was the counselor at Alto Park Elementary School prior to being at Garden Lakes Elementary School. I have been the counselor for Garden Lakes Elementary for the past 12 years.  I graduated from Coosa High School so I am an Eagle at heart! I completed my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Shorter University. Next,  I attended Jacksonville State University  (Go Gamecocks!) to obtain my Master's degree  in School Guidance and Counseling. Finally, I completed by Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Leadership and Administration.
