Welcome to 8th grade!
Hi, my name is Sharon Wagers. This year is going to be filled with fun learning Math experiences. That's right. You heard me correctly. Even if Math is not your favorite subject, it doesn't have to be boring. Don't get me wrong, we are going to work hard but we are going to have fun in the process and you are going to be successful. So get ready. I've been preparing all summer and I'm ready for another year of knocking those Georgia Milestone scores out of the park.
A little about me...
In my spare time, I like spending time with my family. You may know my son and daughter-in-law. They are teachers at Pepperell Middle School, Mr. and Mrs. Catron (Coach Cats). I have two grandsons, Case and Cooper. Case is celebrating his 1st birthday in the picture with the balloons and he is 3 years old in the fall photo, but is getting ready to turn four August 11th. Now he has a little brother, Cooper, who was born February 28, 2025. These little boys are the love of my life.
When I'm not spending time with my family, I enojoy working in my flower garden in my backyard.
I love the outdoors and I love waterfalls, so I try to see as many as I can.
There's no better way to travel around seeing waterfalls than doing it while camping.
If you go camping, you might as well include a little off-road fun too.
Teaching Experience: I am a college graduate from Georgia State University with a degree in Business. I worked in the private sector for fifteen years before going back to school to graduate from Union College in Kentucky, finishing my Master's degree at Berry in Education. Now I've been teaching for over 20 years. I chose to teach 8th grade Math over every subject since my 8th grade Math teacher caused me to fall in love with Math and I've loved it ever since. I've never regretted the career change. Having no regrets in a decision lets you know you made the right decision. I look forward to coming to work everyday. Learning Math is all about attitude. If you have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, then you can learn. I believe in keeping things simple, don't complicate what's not complicated. Take a problem one step at a time and you will find that Math is not as hard as you thought. Practice is the key, just like you would practice in sports or music or video games. Last but not least, I'm always here to help.
