RobotiCS & ENGINEEERING
Welcome!! We, at the College and Career Academy School of Robotics and Engineering, offer programs and materials to build our students' interest, enthusiasm and knowledge in the fields of Engineering, Robotics and Industrial Systems. The VEX Robotics' platform is dedicated to providing engaging student experiences that enable individuals to develop the knowledge and skills vital to success in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
In conjunction with Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC), we offer students an opportunity to engage in our dual enrollment program. Students will receive credit for their high school classes while earning college credits in the same class. Students in the program will have the opportunity to graduate with two different certificates from GNTC: the Basic Mechatronics Specialist certificate and the Programmable Control Technician certificate.
The program is designed to prepare students to enter a four year college, technical college or go directly into the local workforce. The classes taught include Pneumatics & Hydraulics, PLC and Automation Programming, 3D Design using Sketchup and OnShape, Programming Industrial Motoman Robots, and Wiring Schematics with Hands-On Applications.
Our goal is to provide our students with the education and training needed to produce skilled workers and college prepared students for the future of our community and in turn, advance our region’s economic competitiveness. Whatever their future course, they will be prepared with the necessary skills to be successful in STEM.
