Hi, I’m Emily Ayer, and I’m currently in my fourth year teaching 5th grade special education at Pepperell Middle School. I’m passionate about helping students grow into confident, independent learners, and I strive to create a classroom environment where every child feels supported, challenged, and celebrated.
I graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, and went on to earn my bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science from Jacksonville State University. Later, I completed my Master’s in Teaching Special Education at the University of West Georgia.
I’m certified in the Orton-Gillingham comprehensive and morphology programs, and I hold a reading endorsement that allows me to support students with targeted, research-based literacy instruction. Currently, I’m working through the two-year LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training program to deepen my understanding of how children learn to read and how best to support them.
Every day, I feel grateful to be part of my students’ journeys—and I believe that every child deserves a champion who never gives up on them.
