Chorus (8-12)

Course Overview

Chorus is a class for any and all students that would like to participate in group singing at Pepperell High School. Students are separated into the following choirs for scheduling purposes: 8th Grade Mixed Chorus, 9-12 Womens' Chorus, and 9-12 Mens' Chorus. Each of these classes are non-auditioned groups. Singers are graded on their daily participation and not on their talent or singing ability.  Class content includes instruction in proper posture, breathing, tone production, reading music, rehearsal/performance etiquette, and basic music theory. Sacred and secular texts are studied. The chorus program will perform several pieces in concert at the end of each 9 weeks grading period - fall, holiday, winter, and spring.
