Hello Parents! I am so excited to continue to grow your child in music through weekly links and ideas for your children! I have each grade level separated out and you will have new links every week. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at rpack@floydboe.net.
I would love to see some of what you are doing at home! If you have any photos or videos of your child playing instruments (homemade or otherwise), singing, dancing or anything musical Please send them to me! I miss these babies so much and would love to see some singing and dancing to brighten my days here at home! You can send those to my email as well! We already have our first video I am posting now! You will find them in the class photos tab of this website! Thank you PPS Families!
In addition to the links here are some helpful things you can do for your child in music during this time:
Look up kid songs on Pandora and let them use pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to play with the music.
Look up on YouTube songs using the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, etc
Do "I Spy" and identify everything that is a certain color. Example, "I spy green", and the child names everything they see that is green.
Play classical music while the child is taking a nap, reading to their child, and during meals.
Play upbeat music while the child helps with chores, clean up the yard or garage, or plays outside.
Challenge! Create one of these musical instruments and play them to the beat of a song! Take a picture or a video of you and your instrument and send it to me!
Use your body to tap, stomp or clap out the steady beat.

Here is a little practice with your notation. Try creating your own rhythm with these notes and playing them with your home made instruments.
Try to play the beat along with the song and then listen again and try to play the rhythm. Remember the rhythm goes with the words:) Try to find something interesting to play the beat with.
