About me
I am starting my 12th year of teaching, with this being my fourth at Coosa High School. I graduated from Valdosta State University in 2009 with my Bachelors in English and 2010 with my Masters in the Art of Teaching. In 2024 I completed my Specialist degree in Secondary and Middle School Education. I have received my Reading Endorsement, Teaching Online Endorsement, and Gifted Endorsement. I have also completed AP Seminar and AP Lang training.

-Is tutoring available?
Yes. Students will need to make arrangements with me 24 hours in advance.
-What is my student's grade?
I keep PowerSchool up to date. Larger assignments, tests, and projects may take me longer to grade. However, shortly after the assignment is due I will put in a 0 if a student has not turned the assignment in.
-Can my student turn in late work?
Late Work will be accepted at the teacher’s discretion within a reasonable time frame and for partial credit. Late work may be declined if a firm due date was given with multiple notices, student was not using time appropriately in class, or the item was already reviewed in class. Late work will be graded after all current assignments.
To submit late work:
1. Hand in paper copy or turn in via Google Classroom.
2. Email me with the name of the assignment and how it was submitted (paper or Google).
It is my intention to have all late work graded within two weeks. If that time has passed, please follow up with me via email.

As a parent, you are not sitting in my classroom every day nor have you taken high school English in {insert # of years here}. Not only that, but technology has changed at such a rapid pace that it's difficult to keep on top of it all.
