MATH with                 Mrs. Hurst

Just a little info about Mrs. Hurst:

Hello! I may not have grown up in the Pepperell area, but since we moved to Lindale in 2015, I am a Dragon from here on out.

My experience: I have been teaching for 25+ years in grades pre-K to 5th from reading to math and don't forget science and social studies. I've written a life skills curriculum, mentored new teachers, and have been selected as teacher of the year twice. Why am I sharing this? I want you to know that I work extremely hard for my students and have high expectations for your kiddos because I know they CAN learn, CAN do, and CAN achieve anything. 

Why am I a teacher?: As a child, I hated math and struggled in elementary school (mainly 5th grade). So why does that make me an awesome math teacher??? I-GET-IT! I understand what it's like to be frustrated, to struggle, and to want to know, "WHY do I have to learn this?" I know mistakes have to be made to learn, and the end result is what matters the most. I believe that math is a series of stepping stones. We all get to the end of the path, but some of us have to take more steps while others skip ahead.
