Welcome to Mrs. Emmer's Page!

Hi! I'm Mrs. Emmer and this is my third year teaching at Coosa Middle School. This year I am so excited to branch into new grade levels and subjects, working in 6th grade math and science as well as 5th grade math and science.

I am a Rome, Georgia native! I attended Armuchee Elementary, Armuchee Middle, and graduated from Rome High. After high school, I attended Berry College where I studied as a Pre-Medical School student for two years before discovering my love for teaching. At Berry, I was a teacher's assistant in the chemistry department for various labs, and completed several semesters of student teaching at different area high schools. I then graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology.

I am married and have a two year old son. Both of them have been some of the biggest supporters for me and they cheer my students on from afar. I also have an adorable dog named Juno who is a Shar Pei mix. Some of my hobbies include baking, sewing, painting, and weight lifting. I love all things Disney and Harry Potter and am an avid coffee drinker.

Among being a wife, mom, and teacher, I am also a coach. I previously coached year-round swimming for six years, but I am now entering my third year as the head coach of the Floyd County Schools Swim Team.
