About the Teacher
Hello everyone! I would like to start by saying thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with your child this year! I am beyond excited for the amazing 2024-2025 school year. Fifth grade math takes quite a turn, but I know working together as a team will help to get every student where they need to be by the end of the school year.
To introduce myself, my name is Emily DeBerry. This is my first year at Armuchee Elementary; however, I have taught 6 years in the Bartow County School System. During my time at BCSS, I taught grades 3-5 ranging in a variety of subjects being covered. This is my second year in Floyd County School's System teaching math. I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia (go dawgs!!!). I then pursued my Master's degree online in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University. Finally, I obtained my Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership about a year ago from Georgia College and State University.
There is more to me than just my education though! I have been married for three years to Taylor DeBerry, and we had our first child, Zachary, in October 2023. We just moved to the Armuchee community in September; however, we have loved every minute we have spent here! We have one dog who is a Papi-Chi named Benson. I attend church at Spring Creek Baptist. I enjoy spending time outdoors, spending time with family, and traveling. My favorite time of year is Christmas, and my favorite place to visit is the beach!
I am thoroughly looking forward to this year! It's going to be an amazing year full of fun and learning. If you need to reach me, email would be the best way to contact me or via Parent Square. My email is emilydeberry@floydboe.net. Please do not hesitate to call the school at 706-802-6758 if you need to reach me via phone. If I do not have a meeting, I will get back to you during my planning time. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
