Building Strong Attendance Habits
Easy ways to get started building good attendance habits:
Set a regular bedtime and create a morning routine.
Layout clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
Know the first day of school and make sure your child has the required immunizations.
Don't let your child stay home unless they are truly sick. Complaints of a stomach ache or headache could be signs of anxiety.
If your child is anxious about going to school, reach out to your child's teacher or the school counselor for advice on getting your child excited for school.
Avoid planning extended trips and medical appointments when school is in session.
