I am excited to serve as the Speech-Language Pathologist at Model High School, supporting students in grades 8-12. My journey in education began at Shorter University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education in 2019. I then spent four years with Rome City Schools, teaching both Kindergarten and 4th grade English Language Arts. During my time in the classroom, I had the opportunity to work closely with students with individualized education programs (IEPs), which strengthened my passion for supporting students with diverse learning and communication needs.
In 2023, I made the decision to leave the classroom and pursue my long-time goal of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. I earned a graduate certificate in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Georgia in 2024 and went on to earn my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of West Georgia in 2026. I am currently continuing my education at the University of West Georgia as I pursue a Specialist degree in Special Education with a Tier 1 Educational Leadership add-on, which I plan to complete in 2027.
As an SLP, my goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel confident using their communication skills across academic, social, and everyday settings. I believe that every student has unique strengths and abilities, and I strive to help each student recognize those strengths, build independence, and become a confident self-advocate. I am excited to be part of the Model High School community and look forward to partnering with students, families, teachers, and staff throughout the school year.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, and traveling to make memories with my family.
