As a 4th-year History/Social Studies teacher, I have embarked on a transformative journey, shaping young minds and instilling a love for learning in the hearts of countless students.
Born and raised right here in Floyd County, I have always had a deep connection to the region. It was here that my passion for history first blossomed, and a profound appreciation for the stories of the past took root. After graduating I knew that my destiny lay in the pursuit of knowledge and the art of teaching.
Fueled by an insatiable thirst for understanding the intricacies of the past, I earned my undergraduate degree in History from Shorter University, immersing myself in the rich tapestry of human civilization. I then returned to Shorter University to further my understanding of teaching and education by earning my Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
With a firm conviction in the significance of history and literature, I actively seek opportunities to explore novel and culturally diverse locations, enriching my understanding of these subjects. My literary pursuits have culminated in the successful publication of three books within the past year. This unwavering belief in the value of literacy drives me to integrate writing exercises into every instructional endeavor, ensuring that my students cultivate their written expression alongside their comprehension of the subjects at hand.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful family, writing, and seeing the world.
I am looking forward to a productive school year as part of the Coosa Middle School community.
