In 1921, the National Association of Secondary School Principals established the first honor society to be recognized on a national level. The National Honor Society was the product. Since its conception, the society has held four criteria for membership: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
The National Honor Society is a community service organization that also recognizes the high academic achievement of its members. Students are eligible to join the Model High School National Honor society with a 93 or higher cumulative core average. Eligible students will receive a hand-delivered invitation to join NHS from the NHS adviser at Model High School. Selection is based on the completion and review of the NHS membership form and submitted essay.
