Registration for the first audition is due by September 14th!
The first audition will be held on Saturday, November 4th at Woodland High School. Students will need to sing the state selected solo, the Major, Minor and Chromatic Scales, and 3 sight-reading examples.
All State Chorus is a highly acclaimed event held at the Classic Center in Athens, GA. The students who wish to audition will need to be dedicated to advancing their musical skills, as the first audition process can be difficult. Choral students are selected from all over the state of Georgia audition. For Middle School (8th grade) there are two choirs, the Treble (SSA) group and the Mixed (SATB) group. For High School there are 4 groups. 9/10th grade Mixed (SATB), Senior Women (SSAA, 9th-12th grade), Senior Men (TTBB, 9th - 12th grade) and the 11th/12th Mixed Group (SSAATTBB). There are approx. 150 students in each group.
1st Audition
November 4thth (audition times will be determined closer to date)
Woodland High School, Emerson, GA
Parents provide transportation there (Students may car pool)
Students register in the gym, parents may wait in the cafeteria
Audition: Solo, Scales, Sight Reading (3)
2nd Audition
January 18th After School
Model High School, Rome, GA
Register in the cafeteria, parents pick-up at the end of auditions
Sing music for actual event (this is a check to make certain you are prepared)
February 15th - 17th
Athens Classic Center
Rehearse and perform with students from around the State!
