Sally Echols - Head Coach 

Coach Echols has been teaching and coaching for 21 years. She is a '98 graduate of Model High School where she played under Coach Andy Akin. She continued her education and playing career at North Georgia College and State University (now University of North Georgia). She played for four years under Coach Buffie Burson. She also has a masters degree in Administration and a specialist degree in Leadership both from Lincoln Memorial University. Coach Echols is entering her 18th year as the head coach for the Lady Devils basketball team. She was the assistant for two years prior to that under Shawn Whittle. She also coached one year of middle school basketball and enjoys coaching her own children as well. Coach Echols is married to Sam Echols and they enjoy spending time on the lake with their two children - Britton (13yrs) and Molly (11yrs).

Robby Dooley - Assistant Coach 

Coach Dooley is the Lady Devils assistant coach and teaches physical education at Model Middle School. After coaching with Coach Echols for 13 years, he took the head coaching job at Coosa High School from 2018-2021, but now he's back! Coach Dooley brings both energy and knowledge to the Lady Devil program. He is an invested part of the Blue Devil community along with his wife Kelly. They have two young ladies. Reagan is a recent graduate of Jacksonville State University and Riley is a sophomore there now. 

Lauren Jones - Assistant Coach 

Coach Jones is a 2010 graduate from Model High School. After graduation, she continued her education at Shorter University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education in 2014. She started her teaching and coaching career at Pepperell Middle School as the girls basketball coach. Coach Jones is now hoMe for her second year as an assistant coach at Model High School. Coach Jones also accepted the position as the head Girls Soccer coach at MHS where she will start her first season this spring. Coach Jones enjoys spending time with her husband Clint and two year old son, Micah. 

Courtni Webb - Community Coach

Coach Webb is a ’99 graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School, in Vincennes IN, where she participated in volleyball, basketball and track.  She then continued her basketball career at Marian College (now Marian University) in Indianapolis, IN.  She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry.  After graduation, she went on to work as an Analytical Chemist for various pharmaceutical companies in Indianapolis and Cincinnati, OH before moving to Rome.  Coach Webb enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel, and her daughter Susie (6 years).

Rachel McFry - Community Coach

Coach Rachel is a 2015 graduate of Model High School. She continued her education at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she earned a degree in Materials Science and Engineering. While at Tech, she was on the club basketball team where she and the Yellow Jackets won the Club Basketball Collegiate National Championship and were named Georgia Tech Club of the Year. She now works as a Research and Development Engineer at Mannington in Calhoun, GA. Rachel is in her fourth year of helping the Lady Devils. 

Jody Quarles - Head Coach

Coach Quarles began coaching basketball at Model when he was a student teacher during the 1994-1995 season.  He has coached in some capacity ever since, beginning by assisting with the high school freshmen and J.V. boys’ teams, moving to several years as head coach of the middle school boys, and eventually taking over the middle school girls’ program in the 2003-2004 season.  After 13 years as the head girls middle school coach, Coach Quarles stepped back into high school for the last five years. This year, Coach Quarles is back in his favorite element as the girls head middle school coach.  In his career with the middle school Lady Devils, he has an impressive 175-49 record. He also teaches math at MMS. Jody is married to Stacie and they have two girls, Alex 23 and Avery 20.  

Jamie Mathis Skinner - Assistant Coach

Coach Skinner is a 1999 graduate of Model High School. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Communication Science Disorders and obtained her masters in Speech Language Pathology from Georgia State. Coach Skinner played a key role in the success of the Lady Devil basketball program as a player helping to lead them to the Final Four and State Runner-up title. She now invests in the program as the jv middle school coach for the second year. Coach Skinner currently teaches at Johnson Elementary school. She and her husband, Jake, have three active kids, Kensley (14), Brody (12), and Brynlee (9). 

Coach Liz - Community Volunteer

Elizabeth "Liz" Duke is a 2018 graduate of Model High School. As a player in the Lady Devil program, Liz helped her team to two Final Four appearances and 3 Region Championships. Her work ethic and leadership were a huge part of her team's success. She has a passion for teaching the game of basketball and building relationships with young ladies. Liz is currently teaching 2nd grade at West End Elementary.
