I grew up here in Rome and graduated from West Rome High School. I have also lived in Atlanta, Georgia; Memphis, Tennessee; and Dahlonega, Georgia. I am married to Andy Owens who is a lawyer, and we have one daughter, Laura. She is grown-up now and lives in Charleston, SC. I also have a cat named Toby.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Georgia, a Master of Education degree in Middle Grades Education from Berry College, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College.
