My name is Jennifer Hood. I will be teaching your child math, science, and social studies!!! I look forward to working with you and your child during this 2025-2026 school year. I am very excited about everything that your child and I will learn together. I invite you to come into our room at anytime. I appreciate all the previous work you have done with your child. Please continue to work with your child with reading, math, science and social studies. I want my classroom to be inviting to your child and you at all times.
I started teaching in 2005. I previously worked in Bartow County for 3 years. I have worked in many Floyd County Schools for 3 years doing practicum work and work study while getting my Bachelor’s degree. I have a wonderful husband, Shane. He is the youth pastor at Floyd Springs Baptist along with both of us playing in the praise band. We have 6 children. 1 adopted son, Dustin Webb. Our daughter, Jordan, is married to Christopher. They have three beautiful kids: Madyson, Colbert, and Mallainey. Our son, Owen, graduated from Armuchee High in 2016. Samantha works at SunTrust. Sabrina is a COVID AHS 2020 grad and has our fourth grandbaby:. Spencer is an AHS 2021 grad. Sidney is an AHS 2023 graduate. I am a 5th generation Armuchee Graduate. My grandmother taught at the Pocket School and the "Old" white Armuchee School. I graduated from AHS in 1991. I accomplished my goal at University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood. I completed my Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University in 2008. I finished my Reading Endorsement in 2013. I was part of the original MSP (math/science program) through Floyd County for 2 years. I completed my Math Endorsement in 2015. I completed the GOSA Math program through our county office and RESA in 2020. I am starting my Specialist Degree from Liberty University for Curriculum and Instruction for Special Education.
I want all my students to learn and grow throughout the year. I plan on making this time very positive, fun, and happy for each child to the best of my ability. I am looking forward to learning about your child and how he/she learns. I will do my best to meet every child’s need. I am here to help your child grow, learn, and succeed in school. I want your child to love math and become a lifelong learner.
