Hello! I am Jennifer Dougherty, or Mrs. D. This is my 21st year of teaching high school. In addition to teaching I also coach competition cheerleading. I am also the yearbook advisor and Student Leadership Team advisor!
I am originally from the small town of Americus, Georgia where I attended Southland Academy. I graduated from Valdosta State University in May 2003 earning my Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education. In July 2009, I completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership through Walden University. I've been married to my husband Michael, who is also a teacher at AHS, for 17 years. We have two fun and energetic kids, Isabelle and Luke, and a one lovable Boxer named Harley. I love the Dawgs, Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and Indians!
Whenever I get a free moment, I love to read classic and science fiction novels, paint, and experiment with new recipes in the kitchen. I really enjoy working with technology, both in the classroom and for personal use. I hope that this site will be useful for both students and parents this school year. I am both honored and excited to continue my career at AHS, and I sincerely look forward to working with all of my students to help them achieve all of their educational goals.
