Coach Johnson is a veteran teacher of 26 years, the last 21 at MHS. He is the Chairman of the Physical Education Department. Coach graduated from the Univ. of West Georgia (BS Secondary Education) and holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Jacksonville State Univ. Coach Johnson was the head varsity wrestling coach for 13 years and the head middle school coach for 2 years. He has been the head Boys and Girls Golf coach and has coached Girls Track and Varsity and Middle school Baseball. Coach Johnson has coached Football for all 26 years of his career at Bowdon and Model. The last 15 years as Linebacker coach and Defensive Coordinator. Coach Johnson has developed 7 All -State linebackers during this time. Coach and his wife Kelli, who is the SPED Director for Chattooga County, live in Rome and their 2 sons Jacob and Jonah attend Model High and Model Middle.
