Cardboard Boat Challenge

5th grade students, do you think you have what it takes to build a boat...out of cardboard!? If so then this challenge is for you. Put your engineering and nautical skills to the test in this fun and exciting challenge!

Digital Citizenship Week:

Every Year Floyd County Schools emphasizes the importance of digital citizenship and digital literacy skills for students and staff. This year's emphasis was October 15-19, 2018. Our greatest resource for this week is Common Sense Media.

Gingerbread House STEM Community

The Challenge: Can you construct a gingerbread structure/community that represents a location that you are currently learning about in one of your academic classes? Your gingerbread structure/community can depict any fictional (ex.Hogwarts) or nonfictional (ex.London) location.

Hour of Code Week

Floyd County Schools joined schools all over the world for the annual Hour of Code event on the week of December 3, 2018. This event promotes the belief that all students should learn computer science skills.
