This school year will be my 10th year working for the Floyd County School System. I served as a self-contained paraprofessional at McHenry Primary in my first year. I spent the next 5 years in the Armuchee Community serving as a Special Education teacher for the 6th and 8th Grades at Armuchee Middle and Armuchee High School. I will be entering my 9th year as a Special Education teacher and my 4th year at Coosa High School, teaching Math.
I have coached a variety of different sports in my college and teaching career (Football, Wrestling, Basketball, Soccer, etc..) This year, I will once again serve as an Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Coosa Middle School Football Team and as the Head Coach for the Middle School Boys' Soccer Team (7th year overall as a Head Coach, with two Region Championships and one Region Runner-Up title).
My mission as an educator and coach is to inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential, academically, athletically, and personally, while fostering the skills, values, and resilience needed for success beyond the classroom and playing field. I am committed to creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported. By modeling integrity, perseverance, and teamwork, I aim to help mold not only strong minds but also strong character, empowering students to grow into confident, responsible, and compassionate individuals.
