My name is Ben Whelchel and I am a proud graduate of Pepperell High school. I attended all four Pepperell schools and graduated from PHS in 2021, then pursued my Bachelors in Middle Grades Education degree at Shorter University, where I graduated from in May, 2025.

I am a nerd at heart with the love of all things sports. I'm very proud to teach 5th grade math and serve as the head boys basketball coach here at PMS. Some of my favorite things include watching movies, such as the entirety of the Star Wars saga, Marvel, and DC. I also love to play basketball, tennis, pickleball, and golf! 

My mission here at PMS is to engage students in learning how they can benefit from math in their everyday lives. "Without mathematics, there's nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers." — Shakuntala Devi
