Class Overview
This course is designed to develop ability in reading, writing, and critical thinking. Students will learn to read texts of varying genres critically to identify rhetorical strategies, situational significance, and linguistic tools to understand meaning. Students will write independently but work collaboratively to provide feedback and develop ideas as a classroom community. As our world grows more connected, these literacy and literature skills are tools needed for success in the postsecondary world. Students will be introduced to a diverse range of literature, including fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
