GA Milestone

As you know, Georgia Milestones are coming up quickly. I've put together items to help you be successful. Remember, we want EVERYONE to score a 3 or 4!

  • Here are the standards of excellence. These are the standards that we are required to follow and you are required to know to pass 8th Grade Georgia History.

  • This document will show you exactly what you need to know to be successful at each of the 4 achievement levels for 8th Grade Georgia History in the Georgia Milestone test.

  • This document was released by the GADOE as a preview of what to expect on the Milestone. It has examples of questions that will be on the Milestone as well as key vocabulary you need to know for each unit! BE SURE TO REVIEW THE VOCABULARY!

  • This is a breakdown of the Georgia Milestone test according to percentage based on content domains. History, Geography, Government/Civics, and Economics.

  • Here are the teacher notes the state of Georgia has written to help teachers. They explain exactly what you need to know for each standard. It is a great resource to use if you are unsure of any of the standards!

  • This is a short summary of European exploration into the Americas, Native American cultures, and through the American Revolution.
  • YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW the 4 different Native cultures: Paleo, Archaic, Woodland, and Mississippian. That was removed from the standards this year.

  • This summarizes Georgia immediately after the American Revolution, the Indian Removal, and Civil War.

  • This summarizes Georgia following the Civil War, Reconstruction, the New South, the rise of Jim Crow, and the causes of World War I.

  • This summarizes Georgia following WWI, the Roaring 20s, Great Depression, World War II, and post-WWII Georgia.

  • This summarizes Georgia from the Civil Rights Movement until today.

  • This review game has 5 different parts that lets you review everything we have covered this year.

  • This is a great graphic organizer that breaks down the events that led to the Civil War. A LOT of people struggled with this so review!

  • This is another graphic organizer summarizing all he events of the New South period.

  • I created a Quizlet set of basic content you need to know for the Milestone. You can review with the "Flashcard" mode. When you do so, click on "Options" and "Start With" and choose "Terms" to get the questions first.
