Hello Alto Park Families!

I am La Donna R. Turrentine and I am very honored to be the principal of CHAMPIONS at Alto Park Elementary School. I am in my 34th year of education - and in my 21st year as an administrator. I graduated from Shorter College in 1989 and I earned my Masters and Ed.S in Administrative Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. I have taught grades fourth through seventh in Floyd and Cherokee Counties.

I am looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure your children will achieve their highest potential. I recognize that in order to be successful in school, your children need support from both the home and school. I know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for the children’s success, and I want you to know that I will do my very best to carry out my responsibilities. Together, we will accomplish great things and do WHATEVER it takes to help them learn and achieve great things!

Dear Alto Park Families,

I am honored to serve the Alto Park Elementary family. I have served students in Floyd County for over 20 years. During that time I taught at Pepperell Primary and Cave Spring Elementary. Before coming to Alto Park I served as the Assistant Principal at Coosa Middle School, Model Elementary School, and Armuchee Middle School. I am certified in ECE, HPE, Educational Leadership, and Reading Endorsement. I fully believe that all students can achieve and I am passionate about helping them reach their goals. I believe in supporting and empowering teachers to that end. I also believe in building relationships and bridges to foster positive connections with students, parents, and the community. Together we will create life-long learners.
