Six Weeks Grading Policy

Formative (includes all homework, daily work, quizzes) 60%

Summative (includes all chapter tests and assessment checks) 40%

ON TIME EVERY TIME

Any work that is not completed when it is due will be considered late. If any assignment is late, the student will receive an automatic lunch detention. The assignment must be turned in by the next day at the end of detention or it will be handled through the office.

Absences

It is essential that students attend class in order to learn all of the information covered.

1. If you are absent, you are responsible for setting up a time with me outside of class time to learn the material.

2. If you are absent you are responsible for getting the notes from a friend or by screencast.

3. You must present an absentee slip upon returning to class.

4. If you are absent the day of an exam, you will be required to take a make-up exam on the day you return to class (outside of class time).

5. If you are absent for school-related purposes, it is your responsibility to get the assignments before you leave. Assignments are due one day after your return.

Re-do Policy

1. You will be given the opportunity to redo a test, quiz, or assignment. You can improve your grade to a 100.

2. Any student may complete a redo, but only if review material is completed. Highest grade is grade given.

3. You have 3 days from the time a grade is handed back to complete a redo

4. Time to come in to complete redo must be set up with the teacher.


Rules

1. Come to class on time and prepared to learn. (Being unprepared results in a tardy.)

2. Respect all property. (School property, personal property, and other's property).

3. Respect all ideas given in class and do not talk while others are speaking.

4. If work is not turned in on time, it will result in a lunch detention!

5. Do your very best!!

Technology Policy

Since students are provided laptops, cellphones will not be allowed during class unless students are instructed to use them. If caught using a cellphone, the phone will be confiscated.

Email policy

When emailing me or another student, please make sure there is a salutation, a body, and a valediction. If an email isn’t formatted this way, you will have to email me again correctly.

Things you need to know!!!

1. Students will have to clean their desk before leaving the classroom (cleaning supplies will be provided).

2. Due to COVID-19, students will have to wear a mask in the classroom when performing activities when we cannot maintain proper social distancing expectations.

3. Walking in after the bell rings or leaving to get supplies will result in a tardy.

4. Students will be counted tardy, if not in their seat ready to work when the bell rings.

5. You will not be allowed to leave the classroom. Everything must be done between classes. Bathroom breaks will only be allowed with a class pass.

6. Students will not be allowed to bring food into the classroom. The only drink that will be allowed is bottled water.
