If I Could Grant One Wish
If I could grant one wish, it would be for the families who are poverty stricken, the families who lost their home due to the flooding a few months back, and for the families who are struggling with hurricane Ian. I wish them peace to ease them of worry and sadness. I hope they can move one from this tough place in their life and come back ten times stronger than before.
My Favorite Christmas Memory
My favorite Christmas memory is Secret Santa with my family of six. We put our names in a hat and take turns picking names out of it. The kids always try to figure out who has drawn each other’s name, but in the end, we are wrong. When Christmas Eve comes around, we give our person our gifts, and it is always a happy Christmas.
What Christmas Means to Me
Christmas to me is about spending time with the people you love most. Christmas to me is baking cookies and binge watching Christmas movies in matching pjs with your favorite person. Christmas brings me pure happiness. We all get so blinded by society's problems and our own problems that we forget to spend time with the people we love most. Christmas reminds us that spending time with the people we love gives us some peace of mind. Christmas to me is one of the most special things in the world.
One of my Favorite Christmas Memories
One of my favorite Christmas memories would have to be Christmas of 2013 because that was the last one I got to have with my brother. I remember waking up early and running to his room and waking him up with my tiny gift box that contained a drawing I had made, and I had written, “To the best brother in the world” on it. I remember him waking up, opening his gift, and smiling and hugging me. I will always treasure this Christmas memory.
What Christmas Means to Me
What Christmas means to me is waking up in the morning looking through the window to see what looks like endless layers of fluffy beautiful snow and then filling up with as much delicious food and treats as possible. The best part is gathering around the Christmas tree and opening all the wonderful presents and allowing yourself to let loose and spend time with your family and friends.
If I Could Grant One Wish
One wish I would grant for me and my family would be one more Christmas with my granny. She sadly passed away last year. The Christmas of 2021 was difficult for us without her. She always had the warmest smile, heart, and hugs for everyone during this season. Every Christmas she would always make my favorite peanut butter pie. Granny was the glue of the family. Without her, every day feels off. I would give anything for one more Christmas with her, and I know my family would too.
My Message for the Sad and Lonely
My message to those who may be lonely or sad this Christmas is to know you are not alone. If you have lost a loved one, or just happen to be alone for Christmas, I know that it can be difficult to see others spending time together. In 2016, on Christmas Day, I lost my baby cousin in a devastating car wreck. I, too, was feeling sad and alone. However, something I have discovered as I experience a new Christmas each year is that although I thought she was gone, she was truly with me in my heart. God was also with me, and He is with you too. So know others around you may be experiencing similar sadness, but in that you can find comfort. You always have someone in your heart.
One of My Favorite Christmas Memories
One of my favorite Christmas memories was when I was 10 years old. It all started early Christmas morning when I ran to wake up my family. I was so excited to see what Santa had brought me. As I went down the stairs, I didn't see a gift. I got so disappointed, I felt the smile leave my face. I got ready to leave to go to my mamaw’s house. As I opened the door to leave, I saw something I’ve never seen before: a new red four-wheeler. I was so excited!
Pajama Bag Tradition
When it comes to family Christmas traditions, my family has countless, but my favorite would have to be the pajama bag tradition. The pajama bag tradition is something my Nan started doing when my cousin and I were young. It consists of receiving a pair of pajamas and a few stocking stuffers in a bag, but over the years, the bags have grown exponentially. This is my favorite tradition because it is one thing that has remained constant every Christmas, and if all I got was the pajama bag and none of the other gifts my Nan gets us, I would be perfectly content.
The Best Gift I’ve Ever Received
The best gift I have ever received was about two years ago. It was the same year my grandmother passed away. We were all still sad, but we had each other that Christmas. When we opened our gifts, we had lots of joy, but my last gift was special: a matching necklace and ring. It was the jewelry my mom had given my grandmother on her birthday, and my mom decided she wanted me to have them.
A Christmas Tradition
The beautiful lights have always been my favorite Christmas experience. The lights always shine through behind the cold snow, making it look like a winter wonderland. Every year my family and I drive through Archer Park and take in the view. It doesn’t really feel like Christmas if you don’t see the lights at least once. I can’t wait to see them again this year!
My Message to the Lonely
Christmas, the time of joy and happiness for many but not all. A lot of people during this time of year are alone and thanks to seasonal depression, it can make people feel worse. If you are one of those people, then I urge you to listen to this message. Although there may not be anyone you think you can turn to, there is always someone that will listen. Don’t give up on the idea of happiness, and don’t give up on yourself in this time because that is always a chance for yourself to find happiness.
