Christmas Fun!
Christmas is going on trips in our pj’s to look at the pretty Christmas lights, baking cookies with extra sprinkles for Santa, drinking hot cocoa with lots of marshmallows, decorating the tree with our favorite ornaments and spending time with my family. Christmas is the best time of the year!
The Best Gift
The gift I hope to receive this Christmas is a green electric scooter. I should get this gift because my friend has one and I want one too. I should get a green electric scooter because I’m a good friend to others and Santa has never in my whole life put me on the naughty list. Come on, Santa, make my dream come true!
My Favorite Memory
A favorite Christmas memory for me is the year we had a visit from a Christmas mouse. While we were opening presents on Christmas eve out from under the tree ran a little small mouse. Everybody scattered running and screaming like it was a dinosaur. It was so funny and will be something I will always remember.
Sparkles
A funny experience I had through the holidays was when my elf, Sparkles, was visiting. I woke to find Sparkles trapped inside a glass jar with my doll, Jasmine, standing on top of it. I never knew Jasmine was so strong! I hope Sparkles stays out of trouble this year!
The Slanted Gingerbread House
My favorite Christmas tradition is making gingerbread houses with my family. Of course, we start the traditional way by going step by step and everyone takes a turn, but we always find a way to ask mom questions or to get her distracted while Dad, Jerrica and myself all sneak a little candy. “Busted!” My mom usually yells when we are short a couple of gumdrops and lots of missing icing. You can imagine that our gingerbread house never stands, but I look forward to it every year.
My New Family Tradition
My family is very competitive, but in a good way. Last year, we started a new tradition in my neighborhood, a Christmas decorating contest. Boy did we go all out! My dad is obsessed with the movie Christmas Vacation and my mom is obsessed with Christmas lights. We had them hanging everywhere and they blinked to the beat of the song, You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. My dad thought it was cool to change the colors of the lights every evening to surprise me and my brother. We loved it so much and guess what? We WON the contest! My dad is so proud of his winner yard sign and he’s ready to go even bigger this year! I can’t wait!
Family Time
What does Christmas mean to you? Well, that’s only a question you can answer for yourself! As for me, Christmas means spending time with my family decorating our Christmas tree, eating yummy Christmas cookies, and watching our favorite Christmas movies like The Grinch, Rudolph and the Rednosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells.
Christmas is also about grandparents, aunts and uncles smiling, as they watch all the children unwrap their presents! However, to me Christmas is not just about the gifts because its a time my family and I stop to remember that the true meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the greatest gift ever given!
Now, you know what Christmas means to me!
Christmas Magic
A funny Christmas memory was when we pranked my poppy last year with his gift. We got him a Lowe’s gift card and wrapped it up in a bunch of boxes. To throw him off we even put rocks in one of the boxes. It was so funny watching him unwrap box after box to get a tiny card.
Christmas Movie
My favorite Christmas movie is a movie about Jesus and when he was born. The reason why I chose this movie is because it tells the amazing story of Jesus’ birth which is the real reason for the season. It shows from the beginning to the end the story of what really happened on the journey to Bethlehem. I think it is important for people to see what really happened so they can see the miracle of Jesus’ birth and the true reason for Christmas.
Wish
If I could grant any wish, I would wish for everyone at my school to have somewhere safe to go this Christmas. A lot of teachers and students' homes got damaged by the flood. So, I want to make sure they all have a place to stay, have food, and are comfortable. It is important to spend time with your family on Christmas, and these people should be able to do that also.
What does Christmas Mean to You?
To me Christmas means spending time with family and giving and receiving presents. For us the presents are under the lip-up tree. I also love the excitement in the house when we open gifts. My favorite part about Christmas is when we go to my great grandparents house and play BINGO for gifts. I like this the most because I am very competitive and we all laugh and have so much fun. I also enjoy making Christmas cookies, especially when I get to eat them.

Special Story
On Christmas morning, before we open our gifts, my family and I take turns reading the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth. Reading the story allows my family to see the real meaning for Christmas. It’s not about gifts, it’s about the love we have for Jesus and our family. Jesus is the reason for the season.
One Wish
Christmas is a special day in the year that a lot of people celebrate. So if I could grant one wish, just one, my wish would be for everyone to be able to come home on Christmas day. On this day, people can celebrate with their families and have a great time. A lot of families end up having to celebrate without some members of the family because they have to work or do something else, and some people haven’t gotten to see their family members, or members, in years because they’re serving in the Armed Forces. This one simple act can make someone have a Christmas.
Message For a Caretaker
This Christmas let’s remember the medical caretakers that have to work on the holidays, and thank them for all they have done to help people and to save people’s lives. Thank you for all you do and while you take care of patients. Make sure to take care of yourselves. Also, make sure to help a lot of people and let them have the best Christmas in a hospital they will ever have.
Special Stories
Christmas is the most joyful time of the year to me! We all gather in the living room and my mamaw tells the most precious story about my grandma every year. When she tells stories about her, it’s almost like she’s still with me. That is why Christmas means the world to me.
Christmas Cheer
The best gift I’ve ever received is the gift of Christmas cheer. Being able to spend hours cooking with my grandma, wrapping Christmas presents on Christmas Eve night, and even setting cookies out the night of and waiting on Santa. Waking up on the morning of Christmas Day and walking into my living room to see the joyful look on my family’s faces is all I need. The ability to spend time with my loved ones is the best gift I could ever ask for.
A Message for Heroes
A message I have for a medical caretaker who works through the holidays that takes care of someone who is sick and cannot go home is to remember that you are not alone. Please know that you are helping others. The work you do for us has a place in our hearts. We love you medical heroes.
The Best Gift I Received
The best gift I’ve ever received for Christmas was getting to see my mom. I was eight when she came to see me. I don’t get to see my mom often because she doesn’t live with us, but it brought the biggest smile to my face. It was the best gift I have ever received.
Solve World Hunger
If I could grant one wish to help the Earth, it would be to solve world hunger. About 25,000 people die due to world hunger. Solving world hunger would reduce the amount of how many people die each year by 15%. That is about a nine-million-person reduction in deaths. That is why if I could grant one wish to help the Earth, it would be to solve world hunger.
Family Togetherness
When I was seven, my mom, dad, sister, and I moved across the state and away from my extended family. However, every Christmas since, my family always goes to visit, even if it is a month later. This is one of my favorite times of year. All of my aunts, uncles, and cousins gather together in one of their living rooms and open presents, play games, and we always have a big meal. This is a very special time for me because I feel connected again like no time has passed.
Christmas Affirmations
To anyone who feels lonely this Christmas, you are loved. You are beautiful. You are cared about. You are important. Even if you feel alone, you will always have someone who cares for you.
Christmas Pickle
A tradition that my family has is the "pickle." We would get a pickle ornament and whoever could find it first would win. My mom began to hide it. We spent hours looking for it, I had finally found it, but surprise! My dog found it first! We never got to play with the ornament again.
Christmas Memories
My favorite Christmas memory was spent with my family. It was a peaceful evening with the smell of cookies and baked treats in the air. We sat by the fireplace talking excitedly. We could hear Christmas music and the quiet sound of other kids playing outside. Christmas is breathtaking and magnificent.
