The Fountain City Ramblers are a fun-loving acoustic group that covers a wide range of musical genres from 70s rock to bluegrass, americana to 90s classics. The band loves to play popular cover songs in their own unique sound, with a mix of original songs. No two shows are the same, and the result is a relaxed & spirited listening experience for both the audience AND the band.
The group started in 2018 when Tony Basilio (local Sports Talk broadcaster) and Lance McCluskey were both students of David Bivens. The trio started jamming over their shared love of everything from bluegrass to the Beatles, 80s to Led Zeppelin songs reimagined as an acoustic trio. They formed the Fountain City Ramblers band and started playing shows. As fate would have it, Lauren Wilson hired the band to play at her fundraiser event, and she got up to “sing a few songs” for fun as she had just learned to play guitar. She had a passion for music but no prior musical experience in a band. Soon after the guys asked Lauren to become a member of the group in 2020! And then her sister Tracy Dye joined to add her amazing vocal harmonies. Each member of the band has their own full-time business occupations as their main gigs, but playing fun sets around town with the band is their favorite gig!
The band has been featured on the historic Tennessee Theater stage for Mighty Musical Monday, Dogwood Arts Festival, and headlined shows at The Open Chord and Fountain City Park. You can catch the band playing throughout the year at regular spots like Calhoun's, Crafty Bastard Brewery, Admiral Pub, Clinch River Brewery, and many more. Lauren Wilson also performs at local songwriter showcases and writes original songs with the band.
