4th Grade Teacher : Math, Science, and Social Studies
Flour Bluff Elementary
Room 125
Math Class overview
In 4th grade Math class, students will focus on using all four operations - adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing and I will expect my students to be able to solve real world problems involving all of these. I believe that it is important to mold students that have a strong desire to learn and be problem solvers. We will learn about decimals, fractions, large numbers, dividing with remainders, and much more. I believe that it is important as a teacher to provide students with a strong foundation in math concepts that they will need as they progress in school and throughout their lives.
Science Class overview
In 4th grade Science, students will learn about the earth, space, plants, life cycles, animals, electricity and magnetism, motion and sound. Students will also learn about these topics in relation to where they live.
Social Studies overview
In 4th grade Social Studies, students will learn about Indian groups in Texas, European explorers that influenced Texas history, and the Texas revolution - including the Alamo. We will finish up the year learning about important events of the late 19th century to the present.
