Classroom Telephone Instructions
Calling Within the District
To call any district phone from a classroom phone, dial the 4-digit extension number of the person you are trying to reach.
Calling Outside the District
Dial 7 to access an outside line.
For local calls, dial 361 followed by the telephone number.
For long-distance calls, dial 1 + area code + phone number.
Note: Some phones may not be authorized for long-distance calling.
Voicemail Setup and Access
Voicemail is initialized for all telephone extensions.
To access voicemail, dial 5. You will be prompted to enter your password.
If voicemail has never been set up, you will be prompted to create a password.
If the phone already has voicemail configured, the default password is your extension number. If not it will need to be reset.
(Please submit a technology work order if you need your voicemail password reset.)
When prompted, employees should record:
Their name
A brief greeting stating their name and position with the district
These settings can be configured under Personal Options in the voicemail menu. Follow the voice prompts to complete setup.
Accessing Voicemail Off Site
If you need to access your voicemail remotely:
Dial 361-694-9000.
Press *.
Enter your mailbox number and password.
Follow the prompts to listen to your messages.
