Identity theft is a concern, especially during tax season. Bad actors are creative in coming up with new ways to scam taxpayers out of their money.
We take security and privacy seriously and all our clients should too.
We encourage our clients to be vigilant with personal information. In general, verify the destination of a link before clicking on it, by hovering your mouse pointer over the link. Most browser will display the address destination on the status bar near the bottom of the page. Also, look at the address bar to be sure your connection is secured. It should start with https:// (Not http:// which is unsecured). Some browsers may display an open and closed padlock.
For current advice from governmental agencies go to the following resources for more information:

Remember, the I.R.S. do not initiate contact by phone or email requesting personal information, demanding payment or threatening legal action. Just hang up!
