Our mission is to equip every student with the knowledge, skills, character, and mindset needed to thrive after high school. We do this by providing a supportive, academically challenging environment that fosters personal responsibility, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
Dear Southwestern Families,
October is an exciting and spirited month at Southwestern High School! Our Homecoming Week (October 10–18) brings energy and pride to our halls as we celebrate our scholars and school spirit with themed days, a pep rally, the big game, and our Homecoming Dance.
We’re also proud to offer enriching experiences beyond the classroom this month, including the Senior Fling Public Library Series, Rites of Passage sessions, the Walking in Excellence Conference, and meaningful field trips with Consumers Energy and MiCareerQuest. These opportunities help our students explore college, career, and leadership pathways as they continue to grow into their fullest potential.
As we close out the second marking period on October 31, I want to thank our families and staff for their continued support, dedication, and partnership in helping every Southwestern scholar thrive. Together, we are walking in excellence every day.
