Athletics - LMS Only
Fall Athletics - LMS
**Students are permitted to participate in only one sport per season.
Football (7th and 8th grade)
Workouts are held on the LHS Football Field.
There is a Facebook page, LMS Football Parents, that is utilized to share information with parents.
The first game is Thursday, August 14

Volleyball (6th, 7th and 8th Grade)
6th Grade
1st practice: August 4th, from 3:30-5:30 in the Main Gym. You must have sports physical to participate.
Tryouts: August 5th & 6th 3:30-5:30 in the Main Gym.
1st Match: August 19.(You must participate in 8 practices between 8/4 & 8/19 to be eligible to play in the first match).
Summer Workouts will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 24th, 9:00-10:30 AM in the Main Gym.

Boys Tennis (6th, 7th, and 8th grade)
Practice will begin Monday, August 4th, from 3:30-5:00 p.m at the Lapel Middle School courts.
The first match is Tuesday, August 27th.
Girls and Boys Cross Country (6th, 7th, and 8th grade)
Team Camp is July 28 - Aug. 2 . The first meet will be Saturday, August 23rd. Contact Coach Hunt for more information, including summer practices and conditioning. Practices will be after school during the school year. nhunt46051@aol.com

Practice will begin Monday, August 4th, from 3:30-5:00 p.m at Lapel Middle School.

Athletic Pre-Participation - Physical Evaluation Information
2025-2026 School Year
Grades 6-12
Students are required to submit physical exams from the doctor's office and additional registrations before summer activities and practices begin.
1. Physical Exam - completed by the doctor’s office and returned to the LMS or LHS Office. Physical examinations performed on or after April 1, 2025 are good for the 25-26 school year.

2. The final piece of pre-participation paperwork can be submitted online in your student Synergy Athletic Participation Registration or a hardcopy submitted to the LMS or LHS office.

The office will be open for New Student Registration July 30 - August 1. Please call the elementary office at (765) 534-3101 or the middle school office at (765) 534-3136 to set up an appointment for one of those dates.
Open House and Meet the Teacher Nights
LES
Pre-K Night (Aug. 4th)
Meet the Teacher Night ( Aug. 5th 5:00-7:00 p.m.)
Tuesday, August 5th is Meet the Teacher Night! Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Please join us for an evening where students and parents can meet their teachers and get acquainted with their new classroom. During this time, students can meet their teachers, drop off classroom supplies, and become comfortable with general classroom expectations. The evening ends at 7:00 p.m.
Kindergarten University (August 21st 5:00-6:00 p.m.)
On August 21 at 5:00 p.m., Kindergarten parents are encouraged to attend Kindergarten University! During this time, teachers will share information about their classrooms and daily routines for kindergarten students. Please join us for an exciting evening introducing and preparing families for an awesome kindergarten year! More details will be shared after the start of the school year.
4th and 5th Grade Success Night (August 21 6:00-6:30 p.m.)
Success Night will be August 21, 6:00-6:30 p.m.! This special night is for parents and students in 4th and 5th to meet with teachers to gain a better understanding of what the expectations are for upper-elementary students. These transitional years are essential to individual student growth and also for preparation for success as middle and high school students. Teachers will share what to expect throughout the school year and how to best support students for daily success. This opportunity will be a whole group experience that will include teacher-provided information, as well as an opportunity for questions from students and parents.
LMS
Open House (July 31st from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m.)
Students and parents/guardians may come in on July 31st to place items in their lockers. The school will be open on July 31st, 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. You must check your ParentVue account for schedule information. Paper copies of schedules will not be available until the first day of school. Locker assignments can be viewed in ParentVue under the 'Student Info' tab. 7th and 8th grade students must bring their Chromebooks for inspection if parents would like to purchase the $40 insurance plan during Open House. 6th grade parents can purchase the insurance plan on this day as well. 6th graders will be issued their Chromebooks during the first few days of school.
Meet the Teacher Night (Aug. 20th beginning at 7:00 p.m.)
Students and parents are invited to join us on August 20 at 7:00 p.m. for LMS Meet the Teacher Night. During this time, students will lead their parents through a "regular school day." Families will visit each class in order of the student's schedule for seven minutes per period. During that time, teachers will share classroom expectations and learning outcomes for each individual class.
Summer Reading Information - LMS Only
Summer reading requirements for LMS have changed slightly from the last few years. There will NOT be a common title each student is required to read. Instead, students will choose their own age-appropriate chapter book to read, and be prepared to complete an assignment over basic story elements (plot, setting, characters, etc.) in the fall. This will be graded and incorporated into the English grade for the first nine weeks of the 2025-2026 school year.

LES
School begins at 8:25 a.m.
School dismisses for K-2 car riders at 2:50, Grades 3-5 car riders at 2:55 p.m., and all other students at 3:00 p.m.
LMS
School begins at 8:25 a.m.
School ends at 3:00 p.m.
*IMPACT Wednesdays are days when dedicated time is provided for students and teachers to focus on high priority skills necessary for academic success. Sessions will focus both on skill building and enrichment.
**More information to come about after care procedures. Morning care is not provided for middle school students. However, middle school students may be dropped off at Door 5 beginning at 7:30 a.m.
