Philosophy & Vision
At the heart of the Forest Lake Area Community Band is a passion for music, a commitment to community, and, most importantly, the joy of playing together. We believe that music should be a fun and rewarding experience for all, and we strive to create a relaxed, welcoming environment where musicians of all backgrounds can come together, grow, and simply enjoy making music.
Our vision is to provide a supportive space where members—whether lifelong musicians or those rediscovering their love for playing—can develop their skills, build friendships, and experience the excitement of live performance. Above all, we believe in having fun while making great music. Laughter, camaraderie, and a shared passion for music define our rehearsals and performances.
Under the leadership of Director Jake Matheson, we are dedicated to musical excellence, lifelong learning, and the pure enjoyment of playing in a band. We are not just a class—we are a tradition. The Forest Lake Area Community Band isn’t just an ensemble; it’s a family of musicians who come together to create, connect, and share the joy of music with the community.
