Flagstaff Academy offers students, parents, and teachers thirteen databases. There is a database for all areas of interest and every age level. Click on any of the Databases below to discover a world of information, satisfy your curiosity, and/or begin your research.
To access the resources below you must have the correct login and password information from your Safe Searching Resources handout. If you don't have this handout stop by the library to pick one up or email dvonminden@flagstaffacademy.org
Capstone is devoted to creating books and digital resources that kids love and educators trust. Capstone covers the spectrum of reader interest and curriculum support from fiction to nonfiction.
Gale In Context: Elementary (formerly Kids InfoBits), introduces elementary school students to database searching with easy-to-use resources featuring age-appropriate, curriculum-related content.
Grades 2 and up
ScienceFlix is a STEM database with access to videos and articles that help students acquire scientific knowledge, and build an abiding interest in science, technology, and engineering.
Grades 3 and up
The World Almanac for Kids has subject specific information including animals, sports, US Presidents, space, and famous people, to name a few.
Grades 2 and Up
World Book contains more than 40,000 encyclopedia and reference articles, 10,000 biographies, thousands of links, rich multimedia, an extensive dictionary and atlas, audios, videos, and animations.
Grades 3 and Up
BrainPOP contains over 1,000 short animated movies covering science, social studies, English, mathematics, engineering, technology, health, and arts and music.
Grades K and Up
BrainPOP Jr. includes video, game, quiz, and activity sections for science, health, writing, reading, social studies, and math based on national education standards. Kids don't need proficient reading skills to use this audio-heavy site.
Grades K-3
CultureGrams contains detailed information on over 200 countries, US states, and Canadian provinces. It includes historical & geographical data, maps, links to photos and videos, recipes, lifestyle, language, gestures, politics, recreation, and more.
Grades 1 and Up
Use MackinVia to access over 1,000 non fiction and fiction ebooks.
Grades K and Up
Learn 360 is an educational resources for teachers to find videos, games, resources for content.
Teachers
Sora offers the ability for students to explore age-appropriate digital books from Front Range downloadable library. You can access over 400 ebooks and audiobooks. Click HERE for instructions.
